The World of Gordun
Gordun is a divided world shaped by two starkly different continents: Veyron and Hyros.
Veyron, the homeland, is militaristic, bureaucratic, and tightly controlled—a unified nation ruled by a central royal family that values order, regulation, and structured authority, with even magic strictly overseen.
Hyros is mystical, religious, and politically fragmented; although it has a crowned ruler, true power rests in influential religious houses, particularly one dominant family, and magic there is deeply intertwined with faith and tradition.
The fragile connection between these continents is shattered when a massive magical barrier erupts between them, halting sea travel and long-range magic. For six months the barrier remains unexplained, until scholars discover it can be briefly torn open. Expeditions are launched into Hyros through these temporary breaches, but none return—until now.
