Old Man Jeeter
An old man in a corner booth, knife moving steadily over a piece of wood. He's been here longer than most of the furniture. He doesn't look up when people come in, but he notices everything.
About
Jeeter has lived in Desvel his whole life and watched all of it. He doesn't stop whittling while he talks. Eye contact is rare, but pointed when it comes. He calls people "son" or "girl" regardless of their age or race, and speaks in the unhurried way of someone with nowhere to be and nothing to prove.
The figures he whittles are small — animals, mostly dolphins. He gives them away to anyone who sits with him long enough.
In Session 1, Marwen sat with him. They carved wooden seahorses and exchanged them.
